BPP launches Apprenticeship Levy Research - Part II.

BPP’s Apprenticeship Levy Research is back by popular employer demand for a second year, in association with Trendence UK. Earlier this year BPP launched the outcome of our Apprenticeship Levy research that targeted Guardian 300 UK members on how ‘leading employers are approaching the Apprenticeship Levy’. BPP asked top employers how their levy plans had crystallised, the strategies they put in place, how the levy would affect their operating model, candidate perceptions and talent pipeline.

Six months on, BPP are now launching part II of the research to build on last year’s survey. This aims to establish how much employers have delivered on, or changed, their approach now that the levy has landed. It will look at how employers have been dealing with various challenges including; 20% development time, redesigning early career programmes, engaging existing staff and how to manage programmes effectively to create high completion rates. Furthermore, it will also look at anticipated apprenticeship demand and levy spend forecasts for the next 18 months.

Like last year, we will be using the findings to create an informative report for employers that will be split by; Overall Industry (all sectors), Financial Services, Professional Services, Legal and Public (non- Healthcare) sectors. BPP are also conducting a separate Health sector survey in parallel with the core survey. This new survey targets NHS levy paying employers that will reach 260 NHS Trusts and is in conjunction with BPP Health School, Health Education England and the ESFA.

The fieldwork is currently taking place with the final reports scheduled for release in early February 2018.
